Reader Survey

So, Hill Valley is pretty borked; a couple families are consistently erroring (the Kings, in particular), thanks to the erroring I've randomly lost some Sims (see the LJ Cut for the full list), and half the time the neighborhood won't even load.

So I'm looking at a few options here:

One, I could say fuck this neighborhood and fuck this challenge, and stick to just the Speck-Trumm legacy for the time being.

Two, I could just say fuck this neighborhood and start a brand new prosperity challenge, with brand new families.

Three, I could say fuck some of this neighborhood, clone a few of the Sims/families I'm really enjoying, and start a new challenge with them. I have a few in mind, and if I go with this option I'd be happy to hear suggestions of families you wouldn't want to see vanish into the ether.

I'm pretty equally torn between the three of them, so I'm opening this up to the, like, three of you that have been reading the prosperity updates. So what do you think - should I start from semi-scratch, start from total scratch, or not start again at all?

I like your 3rd option, clone some of your - and our - favorites and go for a new challenge. Frankly, I'm pretty gutted about Jesse. I was/am a big Jesse fan! And Kent Bigfoot. *sad face*

I hardly post at all, Hec, but I really DO enjoy your Simsonian goings on. So you do whatever's the most fun for you, which will increase the fun for all of us!

I think Jesse was my fault - when I saw Colton had vanished my immediate thought was "okay, at least it probably won't get worse". I had so many plans for Jesse, though; I almost shifted the play rotation just so I could play their house sooner :'(

(Autumn, though, actually turned out to look a lot like Jesse, so maybe all hope is not lost and I can work backwards from her)

I think I've got a workable idea for a ~fresh start~ though.

i like option 3. I dont really care about the speck-trumm legacy at all... for some reason i'm just not into it... I think i dont feel "close" to those sims, haha.

(I don't really feel as into the Speck-Trumms as I was to most of the prosperity sims, either. But I'm thinking [hoping] that'll change once I get through a generation or two)

I'm with bene, but not for the same reasons. I think either option b or c work, but it would be sad if the specks were all that you played. I don't dislike them, but it's more fun to read when everyone isn't related.

You can get bigfoot back, can't you? Doesn't he exist in multiple neighborhoods?

At least most of the wunderbutts made it... although i am realy sad about the losses

I can get a Bigfoot, but not the same one. Although I doubt the difference is noticeable; they all look the same and have the same aspiration (and I think the same LTW). So I'm not too torn up about Bigfoot, I'd much rather have lost him than another of my favorites.

Now that I'm less RARGH ARGH GAME AT MY BABIES, it isn't all that bad; I started the prosperity challenge with too many families, and it was already getting annoyingly big less than halfway through. And the two I'm most torn up about, Colton & Jesse, I can get pretty close to replicating - I cloned Colton from his grandfather, who I've got a copy of, and Jesse's daughter looks so much like him I doubt I'll have to do much past growing her up + switching her to a guy to get a Jesse clone.

Well, I'm glad things don't look as bad as they could have been.

That'll certainly add to the drama... you can have everyone whine about so and so being dead. If that's possible. You might have to clone them just to kill them.

Why you would do that, I'm not entirely sure.

For the ~*~drama~*~, of course.

IDK I was thinking of doing that with one family; I basically rolled the surviving Myerseseses but all bumped up an age group, except only one elder female instead of two. So I might make Blaine just to kill her so I can explain why Mel's all alone.

But then all the other families are gonna be completely mixed up (except Jesse and Autumn and I AM GOING TO MAKE RORY A TOWNIE so they can get MARRIED because it is FATE) so it seems kind of weird to rationalize one family when the next house over David Bryan (is suddenly alive again and) randomly has an Asian granddaughter.

(...actually I lied, the Hurleys are pretty intact, too. So it'll just be the one family that makes no sense)

Oh God the idea of it being AIDS is hilarious (er, I mean...horrible. Wrong and horrible. Not funny at all) because the two age groups most likely to get eaten were toddlers and infants.

Clone, but within reason. And keep in mind that until they get a fucking patch done to fix the problem with Quicktime that I'm having to live Simlife vicariously through you.
